CIS Return - Authentication Error

Learn what to do if, when end user tries to send a CIS return, they get presented with the below error message: Message Id: Authentication Failure: The supplied user credentials failed validation for requested service.

This error message would mean your PAYE online credentials are wrong, or expired. If it is the former, please re-type existing credentials, or if latter, request new details from HMRC if not available internally.

If after using the correct credentials, you still cannot login, please contact HMRC and ask if you have CIS validation turned on for the Employer in question.
