What is the Access Pay and Bill Email Service?

The Access Pay and Bill Email Service is the product that allows Pay and Bill to connect to your preferred email provider. This can be your own exchange server, an online mail relay service, or through your Internet Service Provider’s email service.

Why is it being updated?

To connect to the email provider in a secure way the email service uses a protocol known as Transport Layer Security (TLS). This ensures that there is a secure encrypted connection between the Access Pay and Bill Email Service and the end Email Service. In 2020 Microsoft announced that they were planning to disable version 1.0 and 1.1 of the TLS protocol due to evolving regularity requirements as well as new security vulnerabilities and only support version 1.2 and above.

How do I update my Access Pay and Bill Email Service

Within this file you will find instructions on how to install the updated Email Service dependent on which version of Pay and Bill that you have installed.

šŸ“Œ Note: As the email service will need to be stopped while it is updated it is suggested that this occurs out of office hours to minimise disruption to your business.
