Year end process

Learn how you can rollover into a new tax year by following these steps.

Written by Terence Cassidy

This article details how you can perform a rollover, as part of the overall year end process.

⚠️ Important: Please refer to your latest release notes and the UK year end checklist or Irish year end checklist beforehand.

To run the year-end closing process, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Payroll, then click Year End.

  2. Select Year End Rollover.

  3. In the pop-up message, click Yes.

When you've completed the year-end process you're prompted to review your invoice and timesheet calendars as necessary. If you use weekly, monthly, or other frequency, you need to set these up. However, not everyone uses time sheet calendars, if you don't use them you can ignore the message.

📌 Note: The next tax year payroll calendar is automatically created on Access Pay & Bill. You need to review this and amend the pay date where necessary, taking into account bank holidays.

🤓 Tip: For UK payroll, we also recommend that you create a calendar for the following tax year too, to accommodate statutory maternity pay calculations, which require two full years of payroll calendars in order to create the transactions for SMP.
